Ningbo, 29 October 2025 Recently, an official three-member delegation from the Mineral Resources Authority of Papua New Guinea (MRA) made a special visit to the Ningbo headquarters of AUX Air Conditioner for an inspection tour, conducting an in-depth review of the company's smart manufacturing system, its end-to-end R&D and manufacturing capabilities and the results of its global market layout. After on-site observation and exchanges, the delegation spoke highly of AUX's modern production scale, core technological strength and global development achievements. In light of the pressing needs of local industrial development in Papua New Guinea, the two sides reached an in-depth cooperation intention on the spot and will work together to promotemineral resources, cross-border logistics and air-conditioner manufacturingfor coordinated development across these three fields, opening a new chapter of mutually beneficial cooperation.
The three visiting officials are all core public-service professionals of the PNG Mineral Resources Authority who have long served in key positions in PNG's core industries, with dedicated responsibility respectively forthe coordinated management of mineral resources, geological resource exploration and survey, and information editing and external publicity for the mining industryand other core functions. They lead throughout the planning of PNG's mineral resource development, the formulation of industrial policy and the coordination of external economic and trade cooperation, and are the core decision-making and executing force driving the upgrading of PNG's mining industry and its associated support industries. Papua New Guinea is exceptionally well endowed with mineral resources, with abundant reserves of strategic minerals such as gold, copper, nickel and cobalt, and mining is a core pillar of the local economy. However, the country currently faces prominent shortcomings in infrastructure and in industries supporting people's livelihoods,notably the absence of any specialised air-conditioner manufacturing plant in the country, and household appliances are entirely dependent on imports. High procurement costs, slow logistics and delivery, and insufficient after-sales support have severely constrained improvements in local living standards, the upgrading of working and office environments at mine sites, and the establishment and operation of foreign-invested mining projects. There is an urgent need to bring in established air-conditioner manufacturers and stable logistics and supply-chain systems to close these industrial gaps.
During the visit, the delegation toured the smart manufacturing workshops at AUX's headquarters, its core technology R&D centre, its end-to-end quality control laboratory and its global brand operations showroom, gaining a comprehensive, multi-angle understanding on site of AUX's full-process operating system, from independent R&D of core components and intelligent production and assembly of complete units to stringent quality inspection and control and global market sales and service operations. Founded in 1986 and ranked among China's Top 500 Enterprises for many consecutive years, AUX Group has a diversified and well-developed industrial layout. During the round-table exchange, the PNG Mineral Resources Authority delegation gave a detailed account of the current state of its country's mining development, its industrial planning and its requirements for developing industries that support people's livelihoods. The delegation stated clearly that Papua New Guinea urgently needs both to empower economic development through external cooperation based on its high-quality mineral resources and to fill the gap in its air-conditioner manufacturing industry so as to improve conditions at mine sites, in public offices and in people's living environments. AUX's strong manufacturing capacity, leading technological strength and global logistics and trade footprint are a perfect match for PNG's current development needs. Building on a good basis of communication, the two sides formally reached an in-depth cooperation consensus and agreed to establish a long-term, stable strategic partnership, focusing on three core cooperation directions: first,cooperation to match supply and demand for mineral resources, consolidating the foundation of industrial cooperation on the strength of PNG's high-quality mineral resources; second,joint development of cross-border logistics cooperation, building efficient and stable cross-border logistics channels and reducing material transport costs; and third,localisation of the air-conditioner industry, drawing on AUX's mature manufacturing experience to help PNG close the gap in air-conditioner manufacturing and improve local living facilities and support facilities at mine sites.
The PNG Mineral Resources Agency ' s special study exchange is an important practice of cross-border industrial complementarities, trade- and economic-friendly interfaces, building a bridge between PNG mining resources and the Chinese manufacturing industry, as well as developing a whole new course for Oxyx air conditioners in Pacific island countries ' overseas markets. As a next step, the two sides will continue to deepen the convergence of normal communications, refine cooperation programmes, and steadily advance cooperation, linking the mining, logistics and air-conditioning industries to multi-dimensional synergies, complementing strengths, sharing opportunities, and deepening bilateral friendly economic and trade exchanges on a continuing basis, working together to create new and new conditions for mutually beneficial and cooperative development.
